Recap: IMG Academy White Ascenders vs. The Villages Charter Buffalo
The IMG Academy White Ascenders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 77-45 whooping from The Villages Charter. IMG Academy White was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.
The Villages Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Washington, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adyn Corbin, who scored 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
IMG Academy White's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6. As for The Villages Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. IMG Academy White will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against University Christian at 1:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for The Villages Charter, they will take on Wildwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wildwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 588th, while The Villages Charter is ranked 153rd).
