Softball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest managed to slip by Crane the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans came up short against the Pirates on Monday, falling 17-5. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jacee Durossette was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Keates, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Southwest dropped their record down to 6-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Crane, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest will challenge Jasper at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crane, they will head out to square off against Sparta at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
