The Granville Golden Horde are taking a road trip to face off against the Corinth Riverhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Granville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Granville needed a bit of extra time to put away Argyle. They had just enough and edged out the Scots 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Horde have posted against the Scots since May 28, 2021.

Joysie Velez was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Velez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Granville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Corinth never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Fort Edward on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Flying Forts with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Riverhawks in their matchups with the Flying Forts: they've now won five in a row.

Granville now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Corinth, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Granville's way against Corinth in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Granville made off with a 12-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Horde since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
