Baseball Game Preview: Harding University Rams vs. Central Cabarrus Vikings

The Harding University Rams will face off against the Central Cabarrus Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Harding University has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while Central Cabarrus will arrive with five straight victories.

Harding University lost 17-2 to Hickory Ridge on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Central Cabarrus never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against West Cabarrus by a score of 3-0.

Central Cabarrus got a great performance from Tellis Bumgarner as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Bumgarner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Central Cabarrus' win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ian Roseboro, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another was Connor Dowd, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Central Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Harding University, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
