After a string of eight wins, Lamar Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a blow against the Purvis Tornadoes, falling 70-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since February 20, 2024.

Beni Raanes went supernova for Purvis, going 7 for 11 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Raanes a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tashaun Gray, who posted 16 points and six rebounds.

Lamar Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Purvis, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10.

Lamar Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Purvis, they will face off against Lawrence County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Purvis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
