Baseball Recap: St. Cloud Gets the Win

St. Cloud's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They never let the Viera Hawks onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 4-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sean Gallagher looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he also posted a .000 ERA, which is the lowest he's posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, St. Cloud's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Echeverry, who scored a run and stole one base while going 1-for-3.

The victory got St. Cloud back to even at 1-1. As for Viera, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

St. Cloud will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Poinciana at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Viera, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against DeLand at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
