Basketball Game Preview: Reed City Coyotes vs. Big Rapids Cardinals

The Reed City Coyotes will head out on the road to take on the Big Rapids Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Monday, Reed City came up short against Kent City and fell 51-43. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Eagles are ranked 149th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Big Rapids). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-14 win over Tri County Area. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Cardinals with their most commanding win of the season.

Big Rapids' record is now 12-2. As for Reed City, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Reed City lost to Big Rapids on the road by a decisive 44-30 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Reed City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
