Basketball Recap: Byron Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Byron won the last time they faced Mooseheart and things went their way on Monday too. The Byron Tigers enjoyed a cozy 67-50 victory over the Mooseheart Red Ramblers. The Tigers pushed the score to 56-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Ramblers cut but never quite recovered from.

When it comes to explaining why Mooseheart lost, don't look at Nishi Amos. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 17 en route to 23 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Amos a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of John McGowin, who posted 15 points.

Byron has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Mooseheart, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Byron will square off against Pecatonica at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pecatonica comes in on 20 and Byron on six. As for Mooseheart, they will challenge Westminster Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mooseheart is facing Westminster Christian at the right time seeing as Westminster Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
