Soccer Game Preview: Cumberland Gap vs. University School

The Cumberland Gap Panthers will head out to take on the University School Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Cumberland Gap came up short against Clinton and fell 4-2. Cumberland Gap have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, University School was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Pigeon Forge, falling 7-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as University School were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Mason Winfield, who's now up to two this season.

University School moved to 5-3-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cumberland Gap, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Cumberland Gap might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from University School in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
