Baseball Recap: Myrtle Beach's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Myrtle Beach came into Monday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Socastee Braves with a sharp 9-2 victory on Monday. The Seahawks not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th.

Julian Neagles was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jacob Edwards was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Wells, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Myrtle Beach's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Socastee, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Myrtle Beach will have a chance to go back-to-back against Socastee: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
