After flying high against Leadership Academy on Tuesday, Bishop McGuinness came back down to earth. The Villains fell just short of the Oak Grove Grizzlies by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. Bishop McGuinness' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Laney Heafner and Lilly Schultz scored all three of Bishop McGuinness' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Bishop McGuinness' loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Oak Grove, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-6-2.

Looking ahead, Bishop McGuinness will head out on the road to square off against Piedmont Classical at 5:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Oak Grove, they will welcome North Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th. North Davidson will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last.
