There's no place like home for Hanahan, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Saturday. They skirted past the Berkeley Stags  3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played  back in August of 2024.
 Hanahan took Berkeley into a fifth set  where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 21-25, 25-23,  18-16.
 Makenna Gallus paced Hanahan's offense, picking up 15 kills. Gallus got some help from  Juliette Owens and her 30 assists. Gallus and  Owens didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with six apiece.
 Despite the  loss, Berkeley saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Kinsley Valicek  had 21  digs and one assist. Valicek is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's  played.
Hanahan's win bumped their record up to 3-5-1. As for Berkeley,  they are  on  an  eight-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
 Hanahan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  victory against Academic Magnet on the 4th. As for Berkeley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game,  a  3-0  defeat against West Ashley on the 4th.
