Softball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Forest Grove's Winning Streak

Forest Grove dropped their record down to 14-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Sherwood Bowmen by a score of 1-0. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bowmen earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

As for Sherwood, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.

For Sherwood's part, not much got past Presley Sarono-Ramos, who gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Forest Grove off the board.

On the hitting side, Sherwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daisha Cornwell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Forest Grove will face off against rival McMinnville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.6, the Grizzlies 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Sherwood is set to challenge their familiar foe Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
