Basketball Recap: Madison County Comes Up Short

Madison County extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 6-10. The contest between the Red Raiders and the Oconee County Warriors didn't end well, with the Red Raiders falling 58-40. The Red Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 49-37.

As for Oconee County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games.

Mason Hall was the offensive standout of the game as he shot 50% from the field on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josh Matthews, who posted ten points.

Madison County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-32 defeat against Flowery Branch on the 13th. As for Oconee County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 71-50 loss against Cherokee Bluff on the 13th.
