Football Recap: Gibson County Starts Season with Loss at Home

Gibson County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the West Carroll War Eagles 52-7 on Friday. The Pioneers have struggled against the War Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Mason Taylor had an outrageously good game for West Carroll as he rushed for 339 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries. Taylor's longest rush was for an incredible 95 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Qumarion Patterson, who rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown.

Coming up, Gibson County will face off against Obion County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Carroll, they will venture away from home to square off against Fayette Ware at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
