Baseball Game Preview: Covina Colts vs. West Covina Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Covina will face off against West Covina. The Colts will host the Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Covina's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so West Covina's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Covina turned things around against West Covina on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs.

Cesar Guzman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Covina got a big performance out of Lucas Thorpe, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Thorpe has posted over his last ten contests. Donavan Johnson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Covina's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for West Covina, they moved to 13-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
