Softball Recap: California Trojans vs. Mapletown Maples
Sadly, California is still looking for their first win of the season after four matches. They fell victim to a tough 15-5 defeat at the hands of the Mapletown Maples on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to California of the 6-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Kayla Saeli was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Madyson Morton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, California didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with eight strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.
