Soccer Game Preview: Mill Valley vs. Washburn Rural

The Mill Valley Jaguars will take on the Washburn Rural Blues at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mill Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Maize get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The score was close at halftime, but Mill Valley pulled away in the second half with three goals.

Meanwhile, Washburn Rural came tearing into Wednesday's contest with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.1 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with a 4-1 win.

Mill Valley's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight matches. As for Washburn Rural, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.
