Elk Grove came into Thursday's contest having lost 14 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 50-45 victory over the South Elgin Storm on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Grenadiers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Elk Grove's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12. As for South Elgin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Elk Grove will challenge Leyden at 12:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for South Elgin, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Aurora East at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
