Lane Tech came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Northside Mustangs. That's more bragging rights for the Champions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The victory didn't come easy: Northside scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21.

Sophia Abdullah paced Lane Tech's offense, picking up seven kills. Abdullah got some help from Amelie Patterson and her 12 assists. Patterson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sophia Polec, each putting up four.

Lane Tech's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Northside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Lane Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Resurrection on the 6th. As for Northside, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Chicago University on the 3rd.
