Softball Recap: Althoff Catholic Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cahokia last Wednesday, Althoff Catholic came back down to earth. The Crusaders lost 18-1 to the Metro-East Lutheran Knights on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in March.

Althoff Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Althoff Catholic's record is now 1-11. As for Metro-East Lutheran, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Althoff Catholic will square off against rival Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Metro-East Lutheran is set to take on their familiar foe Marquette Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
