Baseball Recap: Lehighton's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four contests, Lehighton finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 5-0 to the Tamaqua Blue Raiders. The match marked the first time this season in which the Indians were not able to get on the board.

Lehighton got a good showing from Brady Stubits, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Stubits has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lehighton fell to 7-1. As for Tamaqua, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Lehighton and Tamaqua should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Indians will face off against Moravian Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (14 vs. 423). Meanwhile, Tamaqua (ranked 33rd) will meet North Schuylkill (ranked 236th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
