Kenton (Ohio) quarterback picks Missouri over Notre Dame, Michigan, Vanderbilt and Illinois.

Well, Maty Mauk can relax about one thing.

He knows what college he'll attend starting in 2012.

The athletic 6-foot-2, 185-pound quarterback from Kenton (Ohio), who will likely break most if not all his brother Ben's national passing marks, orally committed to Missouri on Thursday morning over Notre Dame, Michigan, Vanderbilt and Illinois.

Last season, Mauk threw for a national-best 5,670 yards with 69 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also rushed for 974 yards and 16 touchdowns.

He's chasing his brother's career marks in total yards (19,628) and passing yards (17,364).

He needs 4,155 total yards and 3,846 passing yards to break both records. Both are well in reach.

All eyes and cameras will be on Mauk this season, but now reporters won't be asking about his college plans.

Because of his lack of size - he's closer to 6-1 - and the fact he's piled up huge numbers in his dad's system spread attack, Mauk isn't considered a top recruit in some eyes. He's not among Tom Lemming's Top 100 recruits from the Class of 2012. Most consider him a three-star quarterback.

But that didn't scare off 10 Division I schools who offered Mauk a scholarship.
