Baseball Game Preview: Bear Creek Bears vs. Lakewood Tigers

The Bear Creek Bears will head out to challenge the Lakewood Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Bear Creek and Chatfield had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bears took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Jamin Patterson led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Matt Hegerle, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 12-5 to Chatfield.

Spencer Jensen and Harrison Meade stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jensen went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Meade went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Meade's first of the season.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Bear Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Everything went Bear Creek's way against Lakewood in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Bear Creek made off with a 16-1 win. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
