Softball Recap: Forks Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Forks can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ilwaco Fishermen with a sharp 9-1 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Chloe Gaydeski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bailey Johnson, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Avery Dilley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Forks' win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Ilwaco, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-5-1 record.

Forks will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Fishermen: the pair will be back at it again later today.
