Softball Recap: Christoval Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Christoval won against Miles on Monday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Christoval Cougars beat the Miles Bulldogs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-4 victory on Monday.

Danielle Braswell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over eight innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Young, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Morgan Ransom was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Christoval and bumps their season record up to 7-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Miles, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christoval will face off against Trent at 4:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Miles, they will take on Sonora at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sonora has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.88 runs per game on average), something Miles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
