Preview: Perry vs. Red Mountain
Perry is 10-0 against Red Mountain since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Perry Pumas will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Perry waltzed into their matchup last Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand Chandler a 2-0 shutout. Perry's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Reagan Peterson and
Raegan Hussey, who scored both of Perry's goals. The pair have combined for a total of six so far this season.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Red Mountain walked away with it. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Hawks on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Red Mountain.
Perry pushed their record up to 12-1-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Red Mountain, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10-2 record this season.
Perry beat Red Mountain 3-1 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Will Perry repeat their success, or does Red Mountain have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
