Volleyball Recap: Canton Beats Brownsboro for Their Fifth Straight Win

Canton had won four straight games and Mallory Alexander did her part to make it five on Tuesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Brownsboro Bears by a score of 3-1 thanks in part to Alexander, who had 24 assists and seven digs. She has been hot, having posted 14 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Canton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate McClendon, who had 11 digs.

Canton's victory bumped their record up to 25-13. As for Brownsboro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-23 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Canton will square off against rival Van at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Brownsboro is set to take on their familiar foe Athens at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
