Recap: Stafford Trojans vs. Fairfield Falcons
The Stafford Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 51-33 to Fairfield. Stafford has struggled against Fairfield recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Stafford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ines Garcia, who scored seven points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Denio, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Among those leading the charge was Mikayla Pugh, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Yareli Martinez, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Stafford's loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Fairfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, Stafford and Fairfield will both be playing Reno County HomeSchool the next time they take the court. Stafford will head out to face Reno County HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while Fairfield will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
