Basketball Recap: Bullis Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bullis had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-51 win over the St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in Maryland, while the Saints are ranked 52nd in Virginia) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Ainsworth, who posted 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Ainsworth's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Hancock, who had 17 points.

Bullis' victory bumped their record up to 19-8. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-15.

Looking ahead, Bullis won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Maroon have now posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
