Softball Recap: Sunlake Seahawks vs. Lecanto Panthers
It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Sunlake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Lecanto Panthers out 5-4. The win was just what Sunlake needed coming off of a 13-7 defeat in their prior matchup.
Katie Demara looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (she also didn't allow any walks).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Merola, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Analese Lacquey, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base, a double, and an RBI.
Sunlake has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Lecanto, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
