Softball Recap: Maclay Comes Up Short

Maclay lost to Godby back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Marauders lost 15-4 to the Cougars. The game marked the Marauders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Maclay saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Herzog, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Herzog's first of the season. Annelise Evers was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Maclay's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Godby, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Maclay will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wakulla Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on the 13th. As for Godby, they will square off against Leon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
