Gateway was handed a 19-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Skyview Wolverines, sneaking past 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Olympians: when they faced off against the Wolverines last Monday, they had to take a 8-6 defeat.

Gateway's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jakob Petersen, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Another was Christopher De La Torre, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Gateway is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Skyview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Gateway wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-8 win against Adams City on the 10th. As for Skyview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-6 victory against Aurora Central on the 10th.
