Michigan Collegiate hadn't done well against Mt. Clemens recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Michigan Collegiate Cougars walked away with a 57-46 victory over the Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers. The Cougars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leah Williams and Jaidah Williams certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Leah almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards, while Jaidah went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Leah's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Makayla Williams was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Michigan Collegiate pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Mt. Clemens, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.

Michigan Collegiate will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Henry Ford Academy at 5:00 p.m. on February 25th. As for Mt. Clemens, they will take on Sandusky at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
