Baseball Game Preview: Pelham Pythons vs. Kingswood Knights

The Pelham Pythons will square off against the Kingswood Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pelham will be strutting in after a win while Kingswood will be coming in after a loss.

Pelham took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Oyster River 5-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pythons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Stephen Pare, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Davidson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Kingswood fell victim to Stark and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Generals by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

With the defeat, Kingswood broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3. As for Pelham, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Pelham skirted past Kingswood 7-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Pythons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
