 If Forest was feeling good  off their  15-4 takedown of Sicily Island last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Forest Bulldogs took  a  19-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Summerfield Rebels on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Monday (15), Forest still had to take the loss.
  Zachary Houston and  John Stasks did some serious damage despite the final result:  Houston  scored four  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of his six plate appearances, while  Stasks  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  tristan smith, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 Forest's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Summerfield, their victory  ended  a  six-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-2.
 Forest will  square off against Monterey at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Summerfield, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Family Community Christian at 5:00  p.m. Summerfield knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Family Community Christian likes a good challenge.
