Softball Recap: Dora Comes Up Short

Dora came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Oak Grove Tigers by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it eight in a row.

Lillian McKinney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ada Nix, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Dora's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Oak Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dora will venture away from home to face off against Oakman at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Grove, they will head out to challenge Randolph County at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
