Recap: Pleasant Spartans vs. Galion Tigers
The Pleasant Spartans were the 71-58 winner over the Galion Tigers when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Pleasant took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Galion on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pleasant has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Pleasant lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trey Booker. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with six rebounds. The game was Booker's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Wiley Smith, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Galion, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Pleasant will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Cardington-Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Cardington-Lincoln's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Galion will finish 2023 at home by hosting Lucas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lucas is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
