Softball Recap: Hamilton's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Hamilton entered their tilt with Highland on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 6-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Jazmin Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Amirah Lenon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Campbell Stewart, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Hamilton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, they moved to 11-7 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Hamilton will face off against Perry at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Hamilton's pitchers better be ready for this one: Perry has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Highland, they will challenge Campo Verde at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Campo Verde has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.53 runs per game on average), something Highland will no doubt try to take advantage of.
