Mooresville let Hickory Ridge stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Thursday but luckily Mooresville prevailed anyway. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Ragin' Bulls 5-4. The win was nothing new for the Blue Devils as they're now sitting on five straight.
Gavin Barber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Barber was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Tanner Waugh was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Mooresville's record is now 19-7. As for Hickory Ridge, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-8.
As of now, neither Mooresville nor the Ragin' Bulls have any future games scheduled.
