Basketball Recap: Mollie Slaton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Elkmont over Clements + How To Watch

After flying high against Lindsay Lane Christian Academy on Thursday, Elkmont came back down to earth. The Red Devils took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clements Colts on Friday. The Red Devils have struggled against the Colts recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Elkmont's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mollie Slaton, who posted 14 points. McKenzie Doner was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Elkmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Clements, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkmont will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against East Limestone at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clements, they will square off against West Limestone at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
