Baseball Game Preview: Upper St. Clair Panthers vs. Chartiers Valley Colts

The Upper St. Clair Panthers will head out to challenge the Chartiers Valley Colts at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

It was a proper cat-fight when Upper St. Clair faced off against Moon Area on Wednesday. The Panthers fell 6-1 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Chartiers Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Bethel Park.

Chartiers Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Papariella, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Upper St. Clair's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Chartiers Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Upper St. Clair beat Chartiers Valley 4-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
