Basketball Recap: Benson Tech Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with West Linn

On Friday, Benson Tech faced West Linn in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Benson Tech Astros fell just short of the West Linn Lions by a score of 43-41. The Astros' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

West Linn got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Reese Jordan out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Jordan has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Ayla Arnold was another key player, shooting 50% from the field on her way to 12 points.

Benson Tech's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for West Linn, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 20-7.

As of now, neither Benson Tech nor West Linn have any future games scheduled.
