Baseball Recap: Dixon Wins Going Away Against Sterling

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dixon had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Sterling Golden Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Dukes & Duchesses: when they faced off against the Golden Warriors last Friday, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

The team relied heavily on Brady Lawrence, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Feit, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Dixon and bumps their season record up to 14-15. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-21.

Coming up, Dixon will challenge St. Francis at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Dukes & Duchesses' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Sterling does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
