Port Gibson scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harrison Central Red Rebels. The Blue Waves' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Harrison Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hayden Boggs led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave Boggs a new career-high in rebounds. Jordon Beard was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Port Gibson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Harrison Central, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.

Port Gibson will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th. Harrison Central and Cottage Hill Christian Academy will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
