Softball Recap: Cayuga Comes Up Short

Cayuga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the LaPoynor Flyers. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Cayuga saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Lightfoot, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Laura Holman was another, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Cayuga's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for LaPoynor, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

While Cayuga had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
