Softball Recap: Marist's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last 12 games, Marist finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Stayton Eagles by a score of 4-2. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Lera Basom made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Marist's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Stayton, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Marist is taking a road trip to challenge North Eugene at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stayton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
