Soccer Game Preview: Tyler vs. Williamstown

The Tyler Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Williamstown Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tyler came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-1 to Braxton County. The defeat continues a trend for Tyler in their meetings with Braxton County: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Williamstown had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Raiders a 10-0 shutout. Considering Williamstown have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Williamstown's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Tyler, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4-2.

Tyler suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Williamstown in their previous meeting on September 9th. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
