It was a good run, but Fitzgerald unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to the Utica Eisenhower Eagles. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Spartans came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Eagles are ranked 399th).

Fitzgerald's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Utica Eisenhower, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.
