Football Recap: Maple Shade Wildcats vs. Pemberton Hornets

Maple Shade was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Pemberton Hornets, falling 41-21. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Shaun Lake went supernova for Pemberton, rushing for 188 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Lake also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making a tackle. Pemberton also got help from Andrew Anderson, who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.

Maple Shade's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Pemberton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maple Shade will venture away from home to square off against Bordentown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pemberton, they will face off against Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence's defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so Pemberton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
